This week my brother Mark made a stopover here in Crowsnest Pass to visit the boys and us on his way through to Vernon, BC. And since it's just down the road, we of course visited the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre. It's just what we do when Uncles come to visit.
It was a little windy up top, so we took the path down into the slide.
There are a few things that are crystal clear from this sequence of photos. First, it is painfully difficult to get one year old twins to both look at the camera at the same time.
Second, my boys hate socks and shoes, but we really need to work on that.
Third, yes they need a hair cut. Like really badly now. But that'll happen this July in Calgary.... for sure.
Twins with Uncle Mark.
And with mommy.
Afterwards we came home to find someone new has taken up residence in our yard.
Seriously, since the boys were born last June, there have been deer in our yards, all of the time.
So since we decided that maybe we shouldn't carry the boys past the deer to get into our house, we'd go for beer and poutine instead.
Oh yeah.... look! I wrote on my blog! it's been more than just a while. Maybe I'll get into the habbit of this again now that the boys have been 1 for almost a month...... or maybe it'll be another 6 or so months before I post again... no promises.

A little video from the Calgary Zoo
I visited the Calgary Zoo this summer with Kevin and his family when his parents were in town for the August long weekend. I captured some little bits of video and strung them together for you all to see.
If you would like to see some of my favourite photos from the day, you can find them over on my photo blog @Turner_SRPhotography .
But seriously, don't you love those penguins? they actually marched in a line!

I won a gift from Red Parka Designs
So like many of you, I enter quite a few give-a-ways on people's blogs. Last August I entered Kitty and Buck's group giveaway. And ooooh my goodness, I won a $30 dollar gift card to Red Parka Designs. So I happily clicked on over to Jennifer's shop and shopped my happy little bottom off! When my order came in the mail (all the way from Down Under to Calgary...as close to the other side of the world as you can get pretty much) I was a super happy camper!
Oh yeah, did I mention she took the time to personalize the packaging! Also check out how many stamps it took to get here. What did I get inside?
I got two sets of adorable fridge magnets, and then because it was too hard to pick and choose, I got a mystery 10 pack of awesome cards!
The magnets live on my fridge...currently holding up nothing but looking cool along with my Budweiser ones (they come inside the beers at the saddle dome!) my Calabria magnet and my Libin one!
Anyways here's a belated thanks to Jen at Red Parka and to Shell at kitty and buck for an awesome give-a-way!

Things to do instead of writing a grant proposal
These are some things I did today instead.
Laundry, vacuuming, dishes
youtube, blogger, mahjong
Watched elf!
Baked amazing cookies, using my "animals of north america" cookies cutter set from ikea.
Get your own cookie cutters here.
Blogged about making the cookies.
Ate some of the cookies, Milk required.
Recipe for Brownie Roll-Out Cookies here. I had to add a bit of milk, since the dough crumbled when rolled, otherwise very tasty cookies!
Other things I might do before I finish this paper:
Chili is defrosting in the fridge, noodles are ready to go!
Anyways, off to sleep.
Keep it classy folks!
